IST is searching for an experienced IT Service & Support computer technician who has developed skills related to administration and management of networks. The technician must possess strong hardware and software skills, have the ability to install Windows Server Operating Systems and configure and set up Domain Controllers, install and configure Microsoft Exchange Servers, configure system backups, join workstations to a domain, and be able to setup new networks and easily understand existing customer networks. Candidate must possess the skills to troubleshoot, diagnose problems, research solutions, and apply solutions to customer issues. We prefer candidates who can analyze a network or issue, strategize what needs to be done, plan the process, and implement it. Candidate must also be able to effectively articulate problems and what solutions they recommend to the customer. IST’s client base is throughout Central Indiana. Work may be performed on client locations, offsite at IST, or via remote access. Onsite customer locations will require daily travel to customer locations primarily between Anderson, Northeast Indianapolis, and Richmond. IST is looking for full-time applicants ONLY.

The set up, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers and client/server networks

Support for Windows Server operating systems such as 2000 & 2003 with workstation interactions between operating systems such as 2000, XP, and Vista

Implementation of new and support of existing systems and equipment

Troubleshooting and diagnosing of software and hardware issues

Support for physical and virtual system environments

Technical support for software, PC’s, servers, printers, etc.

The configuration of network routers such as D-Link, Netgear, SonicWall, and Cisco

Creation of site-to-site and client-to-site VPN’s

Implementation of various wireless technologies

Documentation of procedures and customer notation

2+ Years of Real-World Experience

Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MS Exchange, and Remote Administration

Experience with administrating Windows Server 2003 environments

Familiarity with Email Servers and Microsoft Exchange

Understanding of backup devices such as tape drives and external hard drives and backup software such as Symantec/Veritas Backup Exec

Must have reliable transportation

Certifications such as A+ Certification and the Microsoft Certification track are preferred

Excellent Communication and Public Relation Skills

Neat in Appearance

Problem Solving and IT Management Capabilities

Somebody who enjoys acquiring new skills and interacting with customers
